Along the northern coastline of the mud lands lies a vast area known as the marshes. Land that had been reclaimed from the sea over many years, was lost during the Great Collapse after coastal dikes fell into disrepair.
The inhabitants of the marshes are hardy people, apt not only at fishing, but also the maintenance and repair of their boat engines and worker automatons.
Automatons are commonly used by the fishers of the marshes, especially those that would otherwise have to venture out into these dangerous waters on their own.
The exact way fishers use their automatons however, varies widely.
Some never return from the fishing grounds...
The Marsh Hunters are those brave - or foolish - individuals that have moved on from simple fishing to much bigger prey...
There is no shortage of dangerous, aquatic mutant creatures in the marshes!
The flesh, hides and fangs of these creature fetch a good price in the next market town.
Handelstaat, the largest market town bordering the marshes, is situated on a river and forms a natural gateway between the marshes and the mud lands beyond.
Humble fishers and Marsh Hunters alike sell their catch of the day in the sprawling market of Handelstaat.
Afterwards, most Marsh Hunters pay a visit to the cartographer’s guild of Handelstaat, to stake out their next hunting ground.
