"In the agridomes, they don't grow food. They grow despair."
Escaped agridome workerÂ
There are countless Agrifarms everywhere in the mud lands, but they can usually be found near cities where possible. The proximity to a city offers a degree of protection from scavengers, especially if the city has a vested interest in the produce of the farm!
In the never-ending rain of the irrigation system, workers toil away in the unbearably hot and humid greenhouse levels. Most of them will spend their entire lives working and living on the farm, unless they are stolen away by scavengers to become warriors in some local warlord's army.
Another day. A cloud of spores is rising from a mysterious yellow plant...
As soon as a single worker breathes in the spores, an unstoppable chain reaction begins to spread across the entire level.
The infected workers turn violent and begin hunting the uninfected.
In panic, workers are trying to get out of the level, but find all of the access hatches already sealed.
Security personnel quickly enter the contaminated level and begin to purge all of the workers...
...whether they show symptoms of infection or not. The risk of letting the contamination spread to other levels is simply too great.
Replacement workers are soon deployed. Their first task is to clean out the remains of their predecessors. A first glimpse at the hard, and most likely short, life ahead of them.
Soon enough, the new workers begin to plant the next crop.
