I have spent six decades mapping not just the geography of our broken world, but its history as well. The dates and events I've recorded here represent my life's work - countless hours poring over fragmentary records, interviewing survivors and their descendants, and cross-referencing oral histories passed down through generations of scavengers, clone warriors, and wasteland tribes.
The years before Prime's calendar reset are particularly difficult to pin down with any certainty. Most records from that era were lost in the chaos of the Great Collapse, and what little survived was further scattered during the Reaping and the Purge. What I present here is my best attempt at reconstruction, based on technological developments we know must have occurred in sequence, and the few dated documents that survived in sealed vaults and forgotten bunkers.
The lunar timeline presents its own challenges. Though the moon cities surely kept meticulous records, they remain frustratingly inaccessible to us surface dwellers. I've aligned their major events with our earthbound calendar as best I could, though I suspect the lunar colonies may use their own dating system.
I am one of the few remaining natural-born males who survived both the Reaping and the ravages of age. I've watched history unfold with my own eyes since the early days after the reset. The more recent dates and events recorded here carry the weight of personal observation, or at least first-hand accounts from sources I've come to trust over my many years of research.
Take these dates as informed estimates rather than absolute truth, especially anything before the reset. Time has a way of blurring in the Desolation, and even the most carefully preserved memories can be twisted by the trauma of all we've lost. What matters most is not the precise dating, but understanding the flow of events that shaped our world into what it is today.
And if I may add a personal observation - the clustering of recent events troubles me deeply. In all my years of study, I've never seen such a convergence of omens and portents. The wheel of history is turning faster now, though toward what end, I cannot say.

I, INX-394 "Inks", certify this to be a faithful transcription of Master Marek’s timeline notes. However, I feel compelled to add my own observations regarding some of the recent entries, having witnessed several of these events firsthand during my travels with the Cartographers Guild.
The entry for 121 AP noting "Massive increase in Siren manifestations" seems almost mundane on paper. But I was there, when a Siren of Nyx turned the very air to poison. I watched her reshape reality itself, transforming three of my fellow cartographers into twisted sculptures of flesh before Mina could get our airship clear of the zone. Even now, I see that horror in my dreams.
Master Marek’s observation about the "convergence of omens" resonates deeply with me. Just last month, while charting the western territories with Mina, we observed strange patterns of lights on the lunar surface - far too organized to be natural phenomena. When I mentioned this to Marek, I saw real fear in his eyes for the first time.
Perhaps I'm overstepping my role as transcriptionist, but I feel future readers should understand these aren't just dates and events on paper. Each entry represents real people, real losses, real terror. Even now, as I write this in our guild hall's archive room, I can hear Mina prepping the airship for tomorrow's survey mission. She thinks the lights we saw spell trouble. She's usually right about such things.
Marek has been more than just a mentor to me - he's the father I never had, teaching me that there's more to my life than the neural programming I emerged with. Through him, I learned not just cartography, but history, philosophy, and the importance of preserving knowledge for future generations. Though he'd probably scoff and wave off such sentimentality with one of his characteristic grunts.
[Personal note, to be removed in final copy: Mina, if you're snooping through my transcriptions again - yes, you were right about the lunar lights. Also, dinner in my quarters later? -Inks]
Yours in faithful service to the Guild,
